Brand Radar: Watching the Trend

One AI Visibility check is a snapshot. Brand Radar turns weeks of checks into a trend — are you gaining ground on competitors, on which topics, and is the tone about you positive?

A single AI Visibility check answers "where do we stand today?". Brand Radar answers the questions that actually drive strategy: are we gaining or losing ground, against whom, on which topics — and is what the AI says about us flattering?

Say your agency spent a month publishing case studies about enterprise projects. Brand Radar is where you find out whether it worked: whether your slice of AI mentions on "enterprise" questions grew, whether a specific competitor shrank, and whether the AI now recommends you rather than merely listing you.

The four views, and what each lets you decide

ViewThe decision it supports
Topic bubblesWhere should we invest next? — which subjects AI associates with you, sized by how often they come up
Sentiment timelineIs the story about us good? — whether mentions are praising, neutral, or critical, over time
Share of voice timelineAre we winning the conversation? — your slice of all brand mentions vs competitors, check after check
Competitor matrixWhere do rivals beat us? — who each AI platform tends to bring up, brand by brand

Topic bubbles

Each bubble is a subject the AI mentioned you in connection with — bigger bubble, more mentions; green means the tone was positive, red negative. Click a bubble to see the actual questions and answers behind it, plus gap suggestions: subjects where competitors get mentioned and you don't. A gap is a content brief waiting to be written — it names the exact topic where publishing something strong would win you mentions.

Sentiment timeline

Sentiment is judged on the sentences that mention you, not the overall answer — so "Brand X is expensive but reliable" counts the way a reader would take it, mixed. Watch for drift: a slide from positive to neutral often precedes losing the mention altogether.

Share of voice

"Share of voice" is simply: of all the times any tracked brand got mentioned, what fraction was you? If AI answers mentioned brands 20 times and 8 of those were you, your share is 40%. The timeline shows that share check after check — the cleanest single measure of whether you're gaining on competitors. (Details and edge cases: Share of Voice Explained.)

Competitor matrix

A grid of brands × AI platforms showing who each assistant favors. Its practical use: choosing a battleground. If a competitor owns Perplexity while you lead everywhere else, you know exactly where the next unclaimed customers are.

Setting up competitors

Add the brands you compete with under Project → Settings → Competitors (up to 5 on Agency, 10 on Enterprise). Anyone mentioned who isn't on your list is grouped as "Other" — if "Other" is a big slice, you're probably missing a real competitor and should add them.

How much history you need

Trends need at least three checks to mean anything; weekly scheduled checks build a useful picture in about a month. History is kept for 90 days on Agency and 365 on Enterprise.

Schedule checks instead of remembering them

Brand Radar is only as good as its data points. Set a weekly schedule on the AI Visibility page and the trend builds itself.
