Trends
How to use SitePulse Trends to chart score history over time, spot regressions, and measure the impact of changes.
The Trends page charts your project's score history over time — overall score and all six category scores — plotted across every completed audit. Use it to spot regressions after deployments, measure the impact of SEO changes, and track progress toward score goals.
Accessing Trends
Go to Trends in the left sidebar. The Trends page is project-scoped: use the project switcher at the top to switch between projects.
The score chart
The main chart shows one line per active category, plus the overall score, plotted by audit date. By default all seven series are visible. Click a category name in the legend to toggle it on or off.
Reading the chart
- X-axis — audit date (each point is one completed audit)
- Y-axis — score (0–100)
- Hover tooltip — shows all scores for the hovered audit date
- Click a point — opens the audit detail page for that specific audit
Zooming
Drag to select a date range on the chart to zoom in. Double-click to reset to the full range.
Date range selector
Use the date range picker above the chart to filter to a specific window (last 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or custom). Audits outside the selected range are hidden from the chart.
Score bands
The chart background is divided into score bands matching the standard interpretation:
- Green band (90–100): Excellent
- Blue band (70–89): Good
- Amber band (50–69): Needs improvement
- Red band (0–49): Poor
These bands help you visually assess at a glance whether scores are in the acceptable range without reading axis values.
Detecting regressions
A regression is visible as a downward step in the chart. Common causes:
- A new deployment changed page content or metadata
- A CMS update removed structured data
- A third-party script increased page weight (Performance regression)
- An image was added without an alt attribute (Accessibility regression)
Use Audit Comparison to diff two audits and identify what changed. See the Audit Comparison page.
Category-specific trends
You can view a single category in isolation by clicking all other categories off in the legend. This is useful when you're tracking a specific improvement campaign — for example, watching the GEO score trend after adding FAQ schema across your top pages.
More audits = better trends
Trends are only as useful as your audit frequency. Use Scheduled Audits to run weekly or monthly audits automatically, so the chart always has fresh data points without manual runs. See the Schedules page.
