Scheduled Audits
How to configure recurring audit schedules in SitePulse — cadence options, audit types, email notifications, and schedule management.
Scheduled audits run automatically at a configured interval — daily, weekly, or monthly — so you always have fresh data in Trends without manually triggering audits.
Creating a schedule
Go to Project → Schedules tab and click New Schedule.
Configure the schedule:
| Field | Options | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Audit type | URL, Sitemap, Competitor | URL |
| Target | URL or sitemap URL | From last manual audit |
| Cadence | Daily, Weekly, Monthly | Weekly |
| Day of week (weekly) | Monday–Sunday | Monday |
| Day of month (monthly) | 1–28 | 1 |
| Time | Hour (00:00–23:00) | 08:00 |
| Timezone | Any IANA timezone | Project timezone |
| Active | On/Off toggle | On |
Click Save to activate the schedule. The next run time is shown immediately after saving.
Cadence options
Daily — runs once per day at the configured time. Best for high-traffic pages where you need to catch regressions quickly.
Weekly — runs once per week on the configured day and time. The most common choice for most projects — provides regular trend data without excessive audit usage.
Monthly — runs on the configured day of each month. Appropriate for low-priority pages or quarterly reporting workflows.
Audit type behavior
Schedules support all four audit types:
- URL audits — audits a single URL. The target URL must still be valid when the schedule fires.
- Sitemap audits — audits all URLs in the sitemap. Sitemap audits count against your plan's sitemap audit quota.
- Competitor audits — re-runs the competitor analysis. Uses the same competitor set as the original audit.
GEO Visibility probes are not directly schedulable in this interface — they run automatically when a URL audit completes (if GEO Visibility is enabled for the project).
Email notifications
When a scheduled audit completes, SitePulse can send you a completion email. Configure this in Settings → Notifications → Scheduled Audit Completion. The email includes a summary of the overall score and a link to the audit detail page.
Score-drop alerts (configured separately in Alert Thresholds) are evaluated after each scheduled audit completion and trigger separate emails if thresholds are crossed.
Managing schedules
The Schedules tab shows all schedules for the project with:
- Status (Active / Paused)
- Last run date and result (Completed / Failed)
- Next run time
- Edit and Delete actions
Pausing a schedule stops future runs without deleting the schedule configuration. Resume by toggling Active back on.
Deleting a schedule permanently removes it. Existing audits created by the schedule are not deleted.
Plan limits
| Plan | Schedules per project |
|---|---|
| Free | Not available |
| Agency | 3 |
| Enterprise | Unlimited |
Schedules run on server time
Schedules fire based on the configured timezone. If you are in a different timezone than your configured schedule, the "Next run" display converts to your local timezone automatically.
