Notifications
How SitePulse in-app and email notifications work — the notification bell, notification types, and notification preferences.
SitePulse delivers two types of notifications: in-app notifications (visible in the notification bell) and email notifications (sent to your account email). Both are configurable per-user in Notification Preferences.
In-app notifications
The notification bell (🔔) in the top navigation bar shows unread notifications. The count badge shows the number of unread items.
Click the bell to open the notification drawer. Each notification shows:
- Notification type icon
- Title and brief description
- Time (relative: "5 minutes ago", "2 hours ago")
- Link to the relevant resource
Mark individual notifications as read by clicking them, or use Mark all as read to clear the count.
Notification types
| Type | When it fires | In-app | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Audit completed | A URL, sitemap, or competitor audit finishes | ✓ | Optional |
| Audit failed | An audit hits an error | ✓ | ✓ |
| Score alert | A score drops below a configured threshold | ✓ | Optional |
| Score recovery | A score recovers above threshold | ✓ | Optional |
| Scheduled audit completed | A recurring scheduled audit completes | ✓ | Optional |
| Team invite | You have been invited to join an organization | ✓ | ✓ |
| CMS patch applied | A CMS patch was successfully applied | ✓ | — |
| CMS patch failed | A CMS patch returned an error | ✓ | ✓ |
Mandatory notifications (audit failed, team invite, CMS patch failed) cannot be disabled. Optional notifications can be toggled per-type in Notification Preferences.
Notification Preferences
Go to Settings → Notifications to configure your notification preferences.
Each optional notification type has two toggles:
- In-app — show in the notification bell
- Email — send to your account email
Email notifications require a verified email address. If your email is not verified, the email toggle is disabled.
Email notification format
Email notifications are sent from notifications@sitepulse.app. Each email includes:
- A brief description of the event
- Key data (scores, threshold values, project name)
- A call-to-action button linking to the relevant page in the app
Emails are sent within ~2 minutes of the triggering event. If you are not receiving email notifications, check your spam folder and ensure notifications@sitepulse.app is not blocked.
Weekly digest
The Weekly Digest (configurable in Notification Preferences) sends a summary email every Monday morning with:
- Overall score trends for each project over the past 7 days
- Number of audits completed
- Any alert thresholds triggered in the past week
The weekly digest is off by default.
Notifications are per-user, not per-project
Notification preferences are account-level settings — they apply across all your projects. You cannot configure different notification settings per project. If you are a member of multiple organizations, you receive notifications for all projects you have access to.
