Your First Audit

Run your first URL audit and understand what happens next.

Run a URL audit

  1. Open your project

Navigate to the project you just created (or any existing project).

  2. Click Run audit

Click the Run audit button in the top-right corner of any project page.

  3. Choose URL audit

Select URL from the audit type selector. This is the most common type — it audits a single page.

  4. Paste a URL

Enter the full URL you want to audit (e.g. https://acme-coffee.com/our-story). It must be publicly accessible.

  5. Submit

Click Start audit. The audit is queued immediately.

What happens next

The audit appears in your project's Audits tab with a Pending badge, then transitions to Running as the worker picks it up. A typical URL audit takes 30–90 seconds.

When it completes, the badge turns Completed and you can click the audit row to open the results.

Reading your first result

The audit detail page shows:

  • Overall score — a weighted average of all six categories (0–100)
  • Category scores — Performance, SEO, GEO, Best Practices, Accessibility, Content Quality
  • Recommendations — prioritized list of fixes, each linked to a specific metric
  • Rewrites tab — AI-suggested copy improvements ready for review

Don't panic at low scores

Most sites score 40–70 on first audit. A low GEO score (under 50) is common — most pages were not written with AI search visibility in mind. The recommendations tab shows exactly which fields to fix first.

Understanding your scores

Each score follows a 100-point rubric. For a full explanation of what each category measures and how scores are calculated, see the Understanding Reports section in the sidebar.
