Acting on Findings
How to review, approve, edit, and apply SitePulse's rewrite suggestions and CMS patches — from pending recommendations to live content.
SitePulse surfaces two types of actionable output from each audit: Rewrite Suggestions (AI-generated copy improvements) and CMS Patches (structured field updates you can apply directly to your CMS). This page explains the full review workflow for both.
Where to find them
After an audit completes, the audit detail page has three tabs:

The Results tab recommendations tell you what to fix. The Rewrites and CMS Patches tabs give you the actual fix, ready to use.
Rewrite suggestion status flow
Each rewrite suggestion moves through a four-state lifecycle:
pending → approved
→ rejected
→ edited → approved
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | AI-generated, not yet reviewed |
| Approved | Accepted as-is — staged for CMS patching if a CMS is connected |
| Rejected | Dismissed — will not be applied |
| Edited | You modified the AI suggestion; the edited version is staged |
Reviewing suggestions
Individual review
Each suggestion card shows:
- Type badge — the suggestion type (e.g.
title,meta_description,faq_schema) - Original — the current content on the page (with red diff highlights)
- Suggested — the AI-generated replacement (with green diff highlights)
- GEO strategy — which of the 9 GEO improvement strategies this addresses
- Persona relevance — which configured personas benefit from this change (if personas are set up)
Actions on each card:
- Approve — accept the suggestion as-is
- Reject — dismiss the suggestion
- Edit — open an inline editor to modify the suggestion before approving
Bulk actions
The Rewrites tab supports bulk operations:
- Select all — select every pending suggestion
- Select by type — select all suggestions of a given type
- Bulk approve — approve all selected
- Bulk reject — dismiss all selected
Use bulk approve for straightforward fixes (alt text, meta descriptions) where the AI suggestions are reliable. Review individually for title tags and structured data where brand voice and accuracy matter more.
Editing suggestions
Click Edit on any suggestion to open the inline editor. The editor shows:
- The original content (read-only reference)
- An editable text area pre-filled with the AI suggestion
- A live search-result preview (for title and description suggestions) showing exactly how the page will look in Google results after the change
- A Rubric badge showing the expected score impact of the edited version
Changes are auto-saved as a draft. Click Approve Edit to finalize.
SERP Preview
For title and meta_description suggestion types, the SERP Preview drawer shows:
- The page title (truncated at 60 chars with a visual indicator)
- The meta description (truncated at 160 chars)
- The URL as it appears in Google
The preview updates live as you type in the editor. This lets you verify title length and click-through appeal before approving.
CMS Patches
Once suggestions are approved, they appear in the CMS Patches tab if your project has a CMS integration configured. See the CMS Patches page for how auto-apply vs manual patching works, and the CMS-specific pages for setup:
Impact on scores
Approved suggestions do not automatically re-run the audit — you need to manually trigger a new audit after applying changes. The score impact shown on each suggestion is an estimate based on the rubric, not a guarantee.
Audit after applying changes
Apply your approved rewrites and CMS patches, then run a new audit to measure the actual score improvement. SitePulse tracks each audit as a separate snapshot, so you can compare before/after on the Trends page.
